IMLS Conservation Project Support Grants
Funding for Conservation Treatment, Surveys, Preservation Training, and Environmental Improvements

FY2012 Deadline: October 3, 2011

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Conservation Project Support program helps museums identify conservation needs and priorities and perform activities that ensure the safekeeping of their collections. It assigns priority to the development and implementation of a logical, institutionwide approach to caring for their living and material collections. Grants are available for many types of conservation activities, including surveys, training, treatment, and environmental improvements.

Grant amount: Up to $150,000
Grant period: Generally 2 years: 3 years with strong justification
Match: 1:1 for total project request

HOW CAN NEDCC HELP?

NEDCC provides expert conservation treatment of books, documents, maps, photographs, parchment, architectural drawings, wallpaper, and works of art on paper, including drawings and paintings in all media, prints, collages, and contemporary works. The Center can perform general preservation, collection-level, or item-by-item surveys.

NEDCC offers worskhops and webinars on preservation and conservation topics throughout the year, as well as conferences on creating sustainable digital collections. Go to NEDCC's Training Calendar for complete information and to register.

NEDCC can aid in the preparation of your grant application by generating estimates for preservation surveys and conservation treatment projects at NEDCC.
