Digital Directions
New Foundations: Creation · Curation · Use
It's a new era in digital collections care and we're heading back to school! NEDCC is actively planning the return of its Digital Directions conference, where a faculty of national experts will come together for three days to introduce participants to the wide range of opportunities, considerations, and choices surrounding today's digital collections care.
Offering insights into how to leverage new tools and technologies for creation, capture, management, and use of digital collections, faculty will explore standards, best practices, capture and metadata workflows, management tools, and discovery and access interfaces.
While continuing the conference's long-standing focus on the creation of good digital objects and collections, we're expanding the scope of 2012's Digital Directions to consider the curation of born digital collections, the impact of the cloud on digital collection care, and what mobile devices mean for the use of our digital objects.
It's an exciting time with lots to learn and we hope you can join us!
Please check back soon for exact dates and conference venue!
Digital Directions is a project supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities and is the updated version of NEDCC’s popular School for Scanning, first presented in 1995.
