NEDCC is grateful for support from:
By now you have heard that last week's federal budget blueprint calls for the elimination of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and many other vital agencies including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
You can help support the NEH, NEA, and IMLS – and in turn all the cultural organization in the US – by taking action in support of these agencies.
Take Action Now - Easy-Access Links
- In Support of NEH: The National Humanities Alliance (NHA) handy online tool
- In Support of NEA: Americans for the Arts online tool for drafting a message to legislators
- In Support of IMLS: The American Alliance for Museums’ email form, and social media contacts
- Contact Your Legislators at www.ContactingCongress.org - Easy to access phone, social media, and email contact info for legislators from all 50 states to voice your opinion on these agencies as well as many others that are included in the budget cuts.
EVERY VOICE COUNTS!
If you work at a cultural institution, encourage your staff to send messages. Then please go home and encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same. Multiple messages are most effective!!
NEDCC receives funding from NEH to support the Center's education and outreach programs for small to medium sized institutions across the nation. The funding helps support workshops, webinars, preservation needs assessments, the Preservation Leaflets, 24/7 disaster assistance, and the free reference service.
IMLS has funded the development of some of NEDCC’s groundbreaking programs, including dPlan: The Online Disaster Planning Tool, Preservation 101: Preservation Basics for Paper and Media Collections, and the Preservation Education Curriculum, as well as the development of the new IRENE Audio Preservation Service.
Thank you for your continued dedication to and support for the nation's cultural heritage collections.
