NEDCC has developed a new 500 sq. ft. Oversize Imaging Studio, dedicated to the digital imaging of oversize and fragile 2D objects. The new studio features a custom-manufactured precision imaging table designed by and made exclusively for NEDCC. The table is engineered to move on both the X axis and the Y axis, while the overhead camera remains stationary.

NEDCC Oversize Imaging Studio benefits:

  • Eliminates manual repositioning of fragile objects during imaging
  • Allows for precise lighting and multi-image capture across the entire object for optimal computer image assembly

These benefits are in addition to the advantages of NEDCC’s overall approach to digital imaging, which include:

  • True 1:1 object resolution (SFR)
  • Faithful color reproduction
  • Distortion-free imaging with flat-field optics
  • Precision master files that enable long-term preservation of intellectual information
  • Retention by client of all intellectual property rights

NEDCC’s Oversize Imaging Studio is ideal for oversize, fragile objects that require precise imaging:

  • Wall maps
  • Architectural drawings
  • Original art, Prints, Drawings, Large Documents
  • Blueprints and other oversize, light-sensitive materials
  • Scrolls, Parchments, Etchings, Textile Samplers
